Genuinely Life-Changing

I am in my early 30's, but I've been experiencing debilitating pain from walking and standing since I was a child due to unexplained foot neuropathy, which was never taken seriously. After I sustained a spine injury at age 19, sitting without neck support also became a painful ordeal, but I was young, so I pushed through. This pain has only worsened over the years. I began using a manual wheelchair in late 2018, but I was dependent upon someone pushing me, as using the wheels myself was impossible due to my musculoskeletal issues. Even with a neck rest, I was still in miserable pain after a day in my chair, because of the severe 90 degree angle of it. Not to mention that I could not take the manual chair to outdoor events, since it could not handle unpaved surfaces.

I bought this chair a year ago in 2022. The initial expense was a tough pill to swallow, but the discounts and financing options offered by Electric Wheelchairs USA made it doable. We immediately put the chair through a trial-by-fire: a trip to New Orleans. Trusting airlines with your chair is nerve wracking, but the design generally allowed them to store it in the cargo hold while only needing to take off the headrest, if that. The streets were rough, but the chair handled them like a champ. There were some places that were simply inaccessible, but that was on the historic nature of the city, not the chair itself. I traveled with it again to Texas, entirely on my own, and was able to attend a concert without being in extreme pain for the first time in my life.

The reclining feature is an absolute GODSEND. I added a little back support cushion (since my spine has quite a severe curve) and a Purple brand seat pad for extra comfort. I can adjust the angle to the perfect position to safely cradle my neck, and move it as-needed in different scenarios. The independence of driving myself around has been extremely liberating...I no longer have to have a caretaker with me when I use my chair. But best of all, I was able to use it at the one event where I always had to suffer in the past--the Renaissance Faire. Outdoors and mostly populated with mulch, dirt, and grass...the chair gave me no trouble at all. For the first time in over a decade, I could stay until closing cannon and not be in miserable pain, recovering for days after. Things I used to just suffer through, I can now do without pain. I take it to the movies and can sit with my neck supported the whole time. I bring it to my weekly D&D games at my local card shop, so I don't hurt myself by sitting in a chair with no neck support for hours. I use it at conventions, and no longer have to try to find a corner to sit in for an hour because my feet are burning after just twenty minutes of walking. Buying this chair has truly been the best money we've ever spent.

Ordering replacement parts is also very easy. The ComfyGo website has them sorted by chair model and clearly labeled. I accidentally shredded my leg lift cables on that Texas trip, but was able to get them replaced without paying out the nose for them. Since I can't lift & assemble the chair myself, I'm working toward even greater independence by looking into getting a hitch transport so that I can utilize it even more often.

Overall, I cannot recommend this chair enough!
