5 Mobility Scooters With The Best Turning Radius

One factor to take into consideration when purchasing a mobility scooter is the turning radius. The turning radius is the amount of space needed for the mobility scooter to perform a 180 degree “U turn”. The smaller the radius the better it will perform in tight spots.

To determine if a scooter can make a turn in a particular space, you must measure the length and width of each area in which you wish to make that U-turn. The length and width measured should be at least 2 times as wide as the turning radius for that scooter.

To make turning safe and easy within your home, it is recommended that you add a few extra inches to the measurement. The mobility scooters that are included in the list below all have a turning radius below 36 inches. As you make your way down the list you will notice that all of them are 3-wheel scooters except for the last one.

The way a 3-wheel scooter is designed allows it to be more nimble and agile. This is because you would have more control over the front wheel and can dictate how far you can turn.
